  • SKIN CARE TIPS PROVEN TO IMPROVE YOUR SKIN

SKIN CARE TIPS PROVEN TO IMPROVE YOUR SKIN

Advertisers of beauty products may suggest to us that one can have flawless skin in an instant. However, we have come know better. The simple truth is that there is no such thing as instant results! An effective skin care regimen requires consistent and repetitive action over time. Consequently, results become visible. The following tips have stood the test of time and have formed the basis of skin care regimen recommended by experts.

    Skin care tip 1:

Avoid products that irritate your skin. Check your skin care products (soaps, creams, body butters, etc.) ingredient list and make sure they won’t irritate your skin.

    [Know your cosmetic ingredients here]

If in doubt, you may do a simple patch test by applying the product to a small hidden portion of your body (usually the inside of the arm). Cover it and leave it for 24 hours. If you notice any irritation, do not use the product.

    Skincare tip 2:

Exfoliate. The idea of exfoliation is to remove old, dead skin cells and other debris or particles from your skin. This eventually exposes the young healthy cells making your skin look young, healthy and radiant. So, get yourself an exfoliation product.

    Skin care tip 3:

If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and tanning beds as they may lead to early signs of aging. Prolong exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) light damages the skin fibers, elastin. Elastin break down causes the skin to sag, stretch, and lose its ability to go back into place after stretching.

    Skin care tip 4:

Moisturize. Dry and cracked skin can be very uncomfortable as it may lead to cracked skin, soreness and redness. Using a suitable moisturizer (day/night) helps to maintain a moist skin which will look more radiant and smooth.

See how to naturally heal cracked feet here.

    Skin care tip 5:

Eat right. It is said that you are what you eat. Remember that the skin is an organ and like any other organ in the body, you need adequate supply of balanced nutrition – Proteins, Vitamins, Minerals, etc. Likewise, if you lack the necessary nourishment, your organs will look and function badly. Eat right and your skin will as well look right.

  • Tips To Look Years Younger

    Tips To Look Years Younger

Growing old is something that many people just don’t want to face.  Aging can be terrible for some people that just dread the thought of looking and becoming old.  When people think of aging they often think of how their looks deteriorate and they lose their beautiful youthful appearance.  There are steps that you can take to help retain your youthful appearance without needing to resort to painful and expensive plastic surgery.

If you have gray hair it isn’t that hard to color it.  You don’t need to spend lots of money at a hair salon; there are many great hair colors available at the grocery store.  Highlighters are also very effective and enhance your natural color and give you a youthful appearance.  Choose a color that isn’t too dark; if you go for a color that’s too dark for your complexion it will actually make you look older.

The style of your hair can make a big difference to your appearance.  There are many different hairstyles these days and they incorporate many ways of wearing bangs and the different styles can make a big difference to your looks.  You can wear your bangs sweeping lightly over your forehead or you can wear them straight.

A layered hair style cut to the neck area will soften your jaw line by drawing the focus away from it.  Shorter layers on the top of the head will add volume and take more focus of any sagging areas and also off the jaw line.  Styling your hair around your eyes will help to hide any crow’s feet that you have.  If you have long hair then why not try some layers to refresh your appearance, this is just as good as a natural facelift.

Makeup is great for changing your appearance, particularly around the eyes.  Reshaping your eyebrows can make you look a lot younger and if your eyebrows are thinning then use a cosmetic pencil to fill in any sparse areas.  You can also use a brow powder to blend the pencil to look more natural.

Concealer can help to hide age spots and dark patches.  If you have any dark circles under your eyes then try a creamy color concealer that has peach or yellow undertone.  Don’t use concealers that are too light for your natural skin tone.

Once you have applied the concealer then apply some foundation with a powder to seal it.  Don’t use too much powder as it will highlight any flaws and lines in your skin.  A cream blush is much better than a powder blush as the powder blush can also highlight the lines in your face.

Dark lip colors can make your face appear harsh and bring out the imperfections in your skin so it is best to stick to lighter shades of lip color.  Adding a little lip gloss to the bottom lip will make your lips appear fuller.

Keep your skin hydrated and in good condition by drinking lots of water and using a good moisturizer daily.  Make sure that your foundation is a moisture rich mix.  Too much foundation will bring out any lines and make you appear older so apply foundation lightly.

  • Anti-aging info and advice

    Anti-aging info and advice

With more and more people living for longer periods, anti-aging is becoming a big business. This article looks into what causes premature aging and advises how to keep looking younger for longer.

The latest research shows that around seventy-five percent of skin aging is caused by overexposure to the sun. This is a huge figure and one that has to be taken seriously for anyone who is looking at ways of delaying the aging process.

In my opinion, this is common sense as when anything becomes burnt it tends to shrivel up and become all wrinkly. This is what can happen to peoples skin, it may not happen straight away but after maybe thirty years of this overexposure to the sun, wrinkles are likely to appear.

For people who enjoy spending time sunbathing as it makes them feel good and they like looking tanned, I would advise a strong sun cream. This should be used regularly as per the instructions and if you start to feel your body burning up this is the time when you should be looking for some shade or to cover up.

It is also important to ensure we get enough sleep. Research suggests that people who only average around six hours of sleep per night will age in looks far quicker than people who average eight hours.

Again this is very logical as if you have a period of a couple of weeks when you do not get enough sleep, bags can appear under your eyes. If you have a really good nights sleep you tend to wake up not only feeling fresh and awake but also looking fresh and healthy. My advice here for people who have developed these bags under their eyes would be to use a good eye cream or to gently massage their eyes every day.

Smoking can certainly speed up the aging process. To quit smoking is not easy however but it is a must for people on a quest to delay the aging process. There are of course many other reasons to stop smoking, therefore be brave and look at ways to quit smoking today.

I have often heard people refer to somebody with a comment such as he looks as if he has had a hard life. This is often referred to as somebody who looks far older than they are. They look like they have not been looked after or that they have not had enough love in their lives.

What I think has happened is that they have had a stressful life. What we, therefore, need to do is to attempt to live as much of a stress-free life as possible. This, of course, is not that easy. What we need to do is to think in a more positive and pro-active way. We need to start to like ourselves and be happy with who we are and what we have. Thinking in this way will certainly, in my opinion, help you in your quest for anti-aging.

  • The Best Beauty Advice Everyone Should Know

The Best Beauty Advice Everyone Should Know

Beauty comes from the inside. You’ve must have heard this statement at least once before. There is a lot of truth to it, and although sometimes it can be hard to believe, we all should try to live by this statement even more. This is why we’ve collected all of these tips for you so that you can always feel and look your best no matter what.

Try to use an eye pencil instead of liquid eyeliner if you can. Eye pencils give a less dramatic look, while liquid eyeliner may be too much. If you have to use liquid eyeliner, make sure to pull your lid downward with one hand while applying it with your other hand.

To keep feet looking beautiful, especially during the warmer, dryer summer months, try applying Vaseline to them every day. It will keep them smooth and soft. Then go get yourself a pedicure and a pair of brand new sassy sandals, and you’ll have the best looking feet of the season.

Make any eye shadow bend to your will. If you are bored with the shadow choices in your beauty kit, it may be time to get creative. Try using a moistened brush to apply your shadow. You will find it brighter and more interesting than it was before. Try it as an eyeliner too.

It is important that you buy a special make-up remover if you use waterproof make-up. Seeing that it is waterproof, it is harder to remove than regular make-up and requires more than just water. Be sure that you remove your make-up before bed so that your pores do not get clogged up.

Baking soda is your beauty friend. Baking soda is one of those products that you should always have on hand. For beauty you can use it to make your shampoo work better, whiten your teeth, and cure the pain of sunburn. All of this from one box that hardly costs a dollar.

Apply a lotion or cream containing sunscreen every day. You have to live your whole life with the same skin and it is worth the investment to protect it. You should start off each day with a coat of sunscreen before you even think of going outside. Your skin will thank you.

If you have skin that tends to get shiny, you can do one of two things throughout the day. If you want to be fancy, you can buy a packet of face-blotting sheets. These smell wonderful and are impregnated with scented transparent powder. Or you can take a sheet of regular toilet paper and press, not rub, on the oily areas.

If you have run out of shaving cream and you don’t want to use soap to shave your legs because of the drying effect, then use hair conditioner! Coating your legs with conditioner before shaving will soften the hair and make it easier to shave, leaving the legs feeling very soft and silky.

If you feel good about yourself, then you will automatically feel more beautiful. These are all great tips that you can utilize in your every day life that will help you feel beautiful both on the inside and on the outside. If you use these to help you feel good, then you will be the most beautiful of them all!

  • Black Skin Care Products

    Black Skin Care Products

Black skin differs from white skin in a few specific ways. For one thing, it does age more slowly than white skin due to the pigment which resists sun damage. But, just like white skin, black skin will get saggy with age so any product that can improve elasticity will be beneficial.

While it might seem odd to some people, even people with dark skin need to use sunscreen every day. Sun is the number one factor in sun damage and premature aging of your skin. This is true no matter what color you are.

At first, we might be tempted to think that all skin is the same, just a different color. And that is true, to a point. Most skin will have similar attributes and issues. Three of the most common are dry skin, oily skin, and damaged skin. These can occur on any color of skin. But it is also true that black skin has different characteristics. To best care for these characteristics find black skincare products specifically for dark skin.

You should never go outside in the sun without wearing sunscreen. If you are going to be out in the sun for an extended time, you should also wear a hat and other protective clothing.

Proper nutrition is also important if you want to keep your skin healthy. And again, this transcends race. Our bodies need the proper nutrition to maintain health, both on the inside and the outside. If you want healthy skin make sure you give your body all the nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

You also need to keep your body hydrated. Providing your body with at least eight glasses of water a day will help keep your body hydrated and your skin moisturized.

Now that you’ve taken care of the inside of your body, it’s time to think about what products you need to apply to the outside of your body.

Many blacks have used products such as shea and cocoa butter for their skincare needs. You have to be careful though that these products aren’t overly processed. They work best in their natural, raw state and if they are processed they will lose a lot of their effectiveness.

When you are on the hunt for skincare products there are a few things you need to keep in mind. For one thing what type of skin do you have? Is your skin overly dry? Do you suffer from oily skin and have frequent, and possibly severe, acne outbreaks? Or maybe you’re one of the ‘lucky ones’ who have combination skin.

Make sure you know what your unique skincare requirements are and look for products that can address those unique needs.

Another thing you should keep in mind when looking for skincare products is that you want to find products that don’t contain a lot of harmful chemicals. If you can find organic products that are probably the best. And be careful, many companies will try to make it seem like their product is organic when it’s not. They will even make their label look like a certification seal when it’s not.

Taking care of your black skin doesn’t have to be a challenge. Just look for the right skincare products for your black skin type, and remember, there are plenty of other skincare products to choose from.

  • Three Habits to Break for soft flawless skin

Three Habits to Break for soft flawless skin

Is your skin as soft and healthy as you’d like? You may be sabotaging it without even knowing. So here are three of the habits that you must break as they wreak havoc on your skin. Note them in order to attain a beautiful and healthy skin.

    1. Shaving Dry

It is important to note that shaving legs and underarms dry can cause irritation, ingrown hairs and razor burn. So, to nurture the skin, softening it in the shower for about 10 minutes is worth considering. Most experts even recommend this stuff for those who wish to attain good looking skin. After doing it, you must apply a layer of shaving cream and not soap, which will just dull the razor and invite cuts. You must shave in long strokes. And, slather on body lotion post-shower.

    2. Ignoring Incidental Sun Exposure

It is true that walking from your car or wherever you may be to the office under the sun may not be as damaging as spending hours baking on the beach. However, it is important to note that even just a few minutes of exposure here and there doesn’t mean that you won’t get wrinkles. It does bring on wrinkles just the same. For that, you should try wearing a daily SPF lotion specially formulated for facial application. Many experts suggest brands of SPF lotion like the Clinique and Neutrogena as they have versions that really work well under makeup.

    3. Avoiding Exfoliation

It is often said that considering exfoliation of the skin brings out great results. Perhaps this is for the reason that if you just ignore exfoliation, dead skin cells will start to build up on the skin, causing itchiness and rashes, especially on the unpredictable or dry weather. So, it is often recommended that you scrub your skin daily with a puff, a loofah, or a grainy exfoliator to help sweep rough skin away. After scrubbing, apply moisturizer to lock in softness.

  • Wouldn’t You Love To Look Ageless

Wouldn’t You Love To Look Ageless

Everyone has three different ages.  First there is the chronological age which is the age in number of years since being born.  Then there is the biological age which is the age of your body system at a specific time and is affected by a person’s health, their brain, heart, cardiovascular system and skeletal system.  Lastly there is the psychological age which is how old you feel.  You may be 60 years of age but you only feel 40.

You can’t change your chronological age no matter what you do but you can make some changes to the other two types of age.  Your lifestyle, such as diet and exercise, can alter your biological age and the age you feel can also be changed when you feel better biologically.

To improve your health you should eat a balanced, nutritional diet.  Reduce the amount of fats and sugars in your diet and avoid fried foods that only add excess fat to your body and clog up your arteries.  Eat more lean meats, white meats and fish to get the protein that your body needs.

Do brain exercises regularly to stimulate your brain as this will keep you alert and help to reduce the risk of deterioration and memory loss.  Keeping your brain and body healthy will help you to feel younger biologically and psychologically.

Psychological age is how old you feel in your mind.  You could be 60 years old, you could have a biological age of 50 but you may feel 40 in your mind.  If you keep active and exercise regularly and also do the things that you enjoy in life then you will feel younger psychologically.  Laugh as often as you can as this will help to keep you happy, positive and psychologically younger.

Although there is no miracle cure to staying young and reversing the aging process, simple changes in your lifestyle can help you to slow down the aging process and feel young and be biologically young.

A healthy diet and exercise is essential to a young biological age.  While many people are satisfied with having a good diet and exercising regularly; some will take it a step further and turn to corrective surgery to make themselves look younger.  Surgery such as a facelift can help to remove saggy skin and wrinkles which will give a more youthful look.  Surgery can be very expensive however and it is best to look after your skin and health and prevent the need for surgery as you get older.

There are many facial products available that can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.  Looking after your skin with a daily cleansing routine will help to keep your skin fresh, clean and younger looking.

Exercising regularly is very important to remain healthy.  An exercise routine may involve going to the gym or it can be something as simple as a brisk walk, jog or cycle.  Playing tennis or going swimming are also great exercises to keep your body and mind healthy and youthful.

A healthy diet will help you to maintain a healthy weight and also reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure and arthritis.

So although you can’t change your chronological age this doesn’t mean that you need to be the same age biologically and psychologically.

  • Age Gracefully Without The Fountain Of Youth

Age Gracefully Without The Fountain Of Youth

Age gracefully without the fountain of youth, with attention to the needs of your body; age naturally and beautifully. The resolution to surgery for youthful appearance could be painful and very expensive, yet the search for the fountain of youth remains in the hopes of a magic solution against the aging problem. Consumers pay millions of dollars every year in this quest with little or no focus on the needs of their body.

Below are some of the essential key notes to consider in appreciating your aging process with grace.

    • Start using sunblock with SPF everyday to prevent sun damage and skin peeling. Use formulated sunblock for your face that allows you to apply makeup over the lotion.
    • Moisturize your skin on daily. The benefits of moisturizers help to hydrate the skin, replenish the skin cells, reduce wrinkles, and create softer skin. There are quality moisturizers on the market that work effectively without the high price associated with many moisturizers.
    • Exercise regularly to improve your health. Base your exercise regimen on your health conditions as you may have limitations. Use stretching exercises if you have difficulties with other forms of exercise. Use yoga and Pilate to increase your joint pliability.
    • Add meditation, yoga, or another stress relieving exercise to your life. When you learn to relax and reduce the stress in your life, you remove the risks of heart disease and stroke. This increases your chances of living longer.
    • Add walking to your exercise program. Walk for thirty minutes four times a week. Buy walking shoes for proper support of your feet and back to lessen the risks of damages and possible injuries.
    • Eat a balance low fat low calorie diet filled with nutrients and antioxidants to help your body keep the youthful skin and buoyancy. Eat foods that contain acai and dark green leafy vegetables that aid the body’s natural ability to age gracefully while they help to build your immunity.
    • Limit your intake of fats and sugars with your foods and beverages. Drink water to keep your body hydrated. Eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day is the medical recommendation for optimal water intake. Reduce your consumption of coffee with added creams and sugar, sodas, teas with the sugars, and other drinks high in sugar contents.
    • Add a multi-vitamin and supplement to your daily regimen. As you age, your body needs different levels of essential vitamins and minerals. The age appropriate vitamins and supplements will help you have the right amounts daily so you can age gracefully with your healthy body and immune system.
    • Visit your physician for a regular checkup. Have your cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugars checked. You doctor will have blood work done to monitor the level of your health and to help prevent any possible medical conditions. Discuss with your doctor any health issues you may be experiencing so they can be treated.
  • Skin Care – The 5 tips you need

Skin Care – The 5 tips you need

Skin Care should not be as complicated as many say it is!

It is often said that you will wear your skin forever. Well, that is very true and that is why a proper skin care regimen is so important. In one of my recent visits to a local beauty shop in Kuala Lumpur, I couldn’t help but notice that so many new products have popped up. Some of them claim to give you a flawless complexion while others promise improved skin tone.

Amidst the array of products with their facts, claims and promises, the simple truth is that there is no such thing as instant results. An effective skin care regime is one that is done consistently over a period of time before skin care goals or results will begin to develop.

    Skin Care Tip #1:
Choose your skin care products carefully – avoiding products that irritate your skin in any way. Avoid skin care products that contain harsh ingredients. If possible, use products that are made of natural ingredients. This will save your skin a great deal of agony caused by chemical damage.

    Skin Care Tip #2:
Get rid of old, dead skin cells and debris as they will often cloud your skin tone. You can do this effectively by using natural exfoliation products to scrub off these cells. Once old skin cells and debris are removed from your skin, young healthy cells will be exposed, revealing a healthy skin tone and better complexion.
Don’t worry, your skin cells regenerate as frequently as they die off. Experts recommend to exfoliate not more than twice a week and even lesser for sensitive skin. Just remember to exfoliate gently.

    Skin Care Tip #3:
The most of our skin is designed to be moist and elastic. However, many of us have experienced dry and cracked skin. This can be painful, embarrassing and very discomforting. A container of unrefined shea butter will add moisture back to dry skin and eliminate cracks and redness.

    Skin Care Tip #4:
Avoid long, frequent exposure to sun and tanning beds. The UV rays generated from the sun and tanning beds are generally dangerous for your health and may also lead to early signs of aging. Yes! they are dangerous but you still love that sun-kissed look? No worries, there are some organic tanning creams out there in the market. You may consider them before you book your next visit to a tanning bed. However, do check out the ingredients, test the product out on a small area of your skin and make sure you have no irritation.

    Skin Care Tip #5:
Take care of your lip’s skin.
The skin of the lips contain fewer melanocytes (cells which produce melanin pigment, which give skin its color). Because of this, the blood vessels appear through the skin of the lips, which leads to their notable red coloring. The lips are also filled with nerve endings so the skin of the lips is extremely sensitive to touch, feel and temperature.
Change in climate or weather conditions can cause dry, chapped lips. In this case, consider using lip balm or lipstick which will help to heal and protect the lips.

This article is for informational purposes. It should not be considered as professional medical advice. Consult your doctor prior to beginning any skin care regimen or if you have been diagnosed with any disorder involving the skin.
