An effective skin care regimen requires consistent and repetitive action over time. Consequently, results become visible. The following tips have stood the test of time and have formed the basis of skin care regimen recommended by experts.

Skin care tip 1:

If in doubt, you may do a simple patch test by applying the product to a small hidden portion of your body (usually the inside of the arm). Cover it and leave it for 24 hours. If you notice any irritation, do not use the product.

Skincare tip 2:

Exfoliate. The idea of exfoliation is to remove old, dead skin cells and other debris or particles from your skin. This eventually exposes the young healthy cells making your skin look young, healthy and radiant. So, get yourself an exfoliation product.

Skin care tip 3:

If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and tanning beds as they may lead to early signs of aging. Prolong exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) light damages the skin fibers, elastin. Elastin break down causes the skin to sag, stretch, and lose its ability to go back into place after stretching.

Skin care tip 4:

Moisturize. Dry and cracked skin can be very uncomfortable as it may lead to cracked skin, soreness and redness. Using a suitable moisturizer (day/night) helps to maintain a moist skin which will look more radiant and smooth.

Skin care tip 5:

Eat right. It is said that you are what you eat. Remember that the skin is an organ and like any other organ in the body, you need adequate supply of balanced nutrition – Proteins, Vitamins, Minerals, etc. Likewise, if you lack the necessary nourishment, your organs will look and function badly. Eat right and your skin will as well look right.
