Skin Care – The 5 tips you need
Skin Care should not be as complicated as many say it is!
It is often said that you will wear your skin forever. Well, that is very true and that is why a proper skin care regimen is so important. In one of my recent visits to a local beauty shop in Kuala Lumpur, I couldn’t help but notice that so many new products have popped up. Some of them claim to give you a flawless complexion while others promise improved skin tone.
Amidst the array of products with their facts, claims and promises, the simple truth is that there is no such thing as instant results. An effective skin care regime is one that is done consistently over a period of time before skin care goals or results will begin to develop.
Skin Care Tip #1:
Choose your skin care products carefully – avoiding products that irritate your skin in any way. Avoid skin care products that contain harsh ingredients. If possible, use products that are made of natural ingredients. This will save your skin a great deal of agony caused by chemical damage.
Skin Care Tip #2:
Get rid of old, dead skin cells and debris as they will often cloud your skin tone. You can do this effectively by using natural exfoliation products to scrub off these cells. Once old skin cells and debris are removed from your skin, young healthy cells will be exposed, revealing a healthy skin tone and better complexion.
Don’t worry, your skin cells regenerate as frequently as they die off. Experts recommend to exfoliate not more than twice a week and even lesser for sensitive skin. Just remember to exfoliate gently.
Skin Care Tip #3:
The most of our skin is designed to be moist and elastic. However, many of us have experienced dry and cracked skin. This can be painful, embarrassing and very discomforting. A container of unrefined shea butter will add moisture back to dry skin and eliminate cracks and redness.
Skin Care Tip #4:
Avoid long, frequent exposure to sun and tanning beds. The UV rays generated from the sun and tanning beds are generally dangerous for your health and may also lead to early signs of aging. Yes! they are dangerous but you still love that sun-kissed look? No worries, there are some organic tanning creams out there in the market. You may consider them before you book your next visit to a tanning bed. However, do check out the ingredients, test the product out on a small area of your skin and make sure you have no irritation.
Skin Care Tip #5:
Take care of your lip’s skin.
The skin of the lips contain fewer melanocytes (cells which produce melanin pigment, which give skin its color). Because of this, the blood vessels appear through the skin of the lips, which leads to their notable red coloring. The lips are also filled with nerve endings so the skin of the lips is extremely sensitive to touch, feel and temperature.
Change in climate or weather conditions can cause dry, chapped lips. In this case, consider using lip balm or lipstick which will help to heal and protect the lips.
